Solid Tire Packaging: From Traditional to Innovative

2024-10-30

When it comes to shipping forklift solid tires, ensuring they reach their destination in perfect condition is crucial. Without proper packaging, tires can lose their shape or get damaged due to collisions, scuffs, or exposure to harmful substances during transit. So, how do manufacturers ensure the safety and integrity of these tires before installation?

Current Packaging Methods
Traditionally, tires are wrapped using narrow rectangular strips that are machine-wound around the tire's circular structure. These strips are typically made from polyester film with a waterproof plastic coating, offering good elasticity and moisture resistance. This smooth, soft surface helps prevent scratches on the tire.

However, this method has its drawbacks. The overlapping of wrapping strips can lead to material waste and increased packaging costs. It can also be time-consuming to apply and remove these strips, which cannot be reused once damaged. Most importantly, this method still leaves the tires vulnerable to potential damage.

Improved Packaging Solutions
To enhance the performance of packaging strips, materials like plastic film, aluminum foil composite film, and polyester film can be used. These can be combined with pressure-sensitive adhesives or double-sided adhesive films applied to the edges of the base strips. During use, the adhesive film is continuously pressed onto the already-wrapped tire, forming a seamless and durable seal. This method offers excellent waterproofing and dustproofing, preventing external contaminants from affecting the tires and overcoming the limitations of traditional packaging.
