The Art of Storing Forklift Tires

Storing forklift solid tires is more than just setting them aside. Proper storage is crucial to extending their lifespan and ensuring safety. Here’s a lively guide to keeping your tires in top shape:

Ideal Storage Conditions: Keep new or temporarily unused tires in a dry warehouse, away from direct sunlight and rain. Avoid excessive ventilation. Large tire storage areas should be equipped with thermometers and hygrometers, maintaining temperatures between -10°C to 30°C and humidity levels at 50% to 80%.

Avoid Oxidation Hazards: Store tires away from heat sources, power generators, and ozone-producing equipment to prevent accelerated oxidation. Keep them away from flammable materials and chemicals such as oils, acids, and alkalis.

Protect from the Elements: Shield tires from sunlight, moisture, high temperatures, and chemicals. Store full sets of tires vertically on racks. Rotate long-stored tires periodically to avoid deformation.

Inflation and Organization: When storing tires mounted on rims, slightly inflate them to maintain pressure. Organize storage by production or entry date, following a first-in, first-out method to ensure proper usage sequence.
