Correct use and maintenance of forklift tires
Release Time:2021-08-12

The wear and tear of forklift tires directly affects the work efficiency of forklift tires, and even affects the safety of operations. Timely replacement of tires, selection of suitable treads, daily maintenance, regular inspection of tire pressure, timely repair, and excavation of stones and foreign objects in tires are important factors for prolonging the service life of tires.

Strengthen the maintenance of tires, check the air pressure and dig stones. Check regularly under cold conditions and under a certain load, at least once a month; in summer, because the ambient temperature is too high, if the tire temperature is too high, you should appropriately increase the number of stops to avoid direct sunlight For example, if the forklift is parked in a cool place, cold water should not be used to cool down or decompress; in a long-term open air environment in winter, wooden boards should be placed on the lower surface of the tire, and the tire should not be accelerated immediately when the tire is started, and then after the tire is hot Switch to normal driving.

Check the rim for cracks, deformation and obvious corrosion. If so, repair or replace the rim in time to ensure that the rim and the tire match, and add lubrication in time.

The main reasons for the jagged wear of forklift tire treads are improper adjustment of the front wheel alignment, abnormal position of the front suspension system, etc. In addition, the wear of individual forklift tires is relatively large because the suspension system of each wheel is abnormal or the bracket is bent or bent. The unbalance of each wheel.

The speed of forklift loading and unloading or operation is related to the load force of the tire. When operating or transporting in an off-highway environment, the determined basic speeds are 10 km/h and 50 km/h, respectively. Keeping changes in the surface and position of the tire and keeping the tire's wear uniform are an effective way to prolong the service life of the tire.

Often used under overload conditions, the service life of the tire will be reduced by 20%-50%. At the same time, the wrong loading mode will also cause uneven tire load and reduce the over-life of the individual tire load. When driving at high speeds, a certain distance must be maintained to avoid unnecessary or frequent braking and reduce damage to the tires. At the same time, for its own safety, in order to pay attention to the tread depth of the tire, the tire is close to the ground because the friction between the tire and the road reduces the braking distance and does not run at high speed.

When forklift wheel tires are worn or burst, they should be replaced in time. The reasonable way to replace forklift wheels and tires is: park the forklift on a flat and hard road, turn off the engine, and leave the forklift in an idling state. The fork is lowered to the ground and the wheels are stopped by the parking brake. If the steering tire is replaced, support the jack in the center of the rear bracket of the rear axle to keep the tire in contact with the ground; unscrew the bolt supporting the expansion tube, remove the clamp, and then loosen the hub nut. The car is fully supported by the jack, the wheel nuts are rotated, and the tires are removed. The installation sequence is opposite to the removal sequence. When installing the hub nut, the tightening torque must reach the specified data.

The forklift tires must be installed on the designated vehicles and wheels, and special tools and tools must be equipped to install and remove the tires. Hard prying and hard smashing are strictly prohibited. The same axle should be equipped with tires of the same brand, specification, structure, pattern and grade. Bias tires and radial tires cannot be mixed. When assembling directional pattern tires, the rotation direction signs of the tires should be consistent with the driving direction of the vehicle.

The choice of tires is closely related to the performance of the forklift. Some people think that it is safer to replace the original tires with wide tires, but when the weight of the engine and the forklift are the same, changing to too wide tires will make the tires not have enough grip. Skating on wet roads is not safe.

When the inner tube of the forklift tire has small holes, it can be hot patched or cold patched.
